A Drag Is Born

The Australian debut of a seven-time award-winning, wordless solo show from New York-based Canary Islands theatre-maker Edu Díaz. An ordinary man of advanced age, abundant body hair and limited talents is thrust into the spotlight and crowned Queen of the Carnival, in an hour of clowning, drag and music about queer identity, resilience and self-acceptance. It has played New York, Orlando, Los Angeles, Tenerife and the Edinburgh Fringe, and comes to Sydney with support from the Embassy of Spain. General admission $35, concession $30.
