Smith St Pop-Up Market 2026

An exciting pop-up market, right in the heart of bustling Smith St, Fitzroy, just below and in association with Fitzroy Public Gallery. This is a pop-up market for the summer, smack in the heart of Smith St. There is a large bar and restaurant space with direct Smith St frontage, beneath a thriving art gallery. We have many cafes and bars in the area and we are part of the "rainbow precinct" - with many queer or queer-friendly attractions. We are running throughout Midsumma, including the Pride Street parade on February 8th. Art and craft stalls are encouraged but clothes or other items are welcome also. There is room for around 6-8 stalls of approx 3m sq. Stalls are allotted on a casual needs basis and it's expected that stallholders will be flexible and supportive of each other to create a lively atmosphere and a welcoming vibe. Some tables and chairs are available but it's advisable for stall holders to bring their own stands and display material. Parking is metered on Smith st so it's suggested that you drop your wares then park in free timed parks in Gore St or George St. We open an hour before for setup. If you have booked for subsequent days, you can leave your stuff set up and it will be securely stored.
