A sex therapist and somatic sexologist walk into a bar, and what do you get? Queer speed dating. Love Club is back at The Newtown Hotel on Thursday 29 October for another night of queer connection, pleasure and community. This is speed dating without the usual categories. Participants aren’t separated by gender, sexuality, relationship structure or age. You’ll meet everyone in the room and decide whether the connection feels romantic, sexual, platonic, something else entirely, or simply not there. Come open to possibility. You might find a date, a play-party companion, a new friend, someone to share the couch with, or a person who understands your favourite fantasy book series. All genders, identities and forms of connection are celebrated, with no pressure or predetermined outcome. What to expect: Name and pronoun tags, conversation prompts, five-minute dates, performances, raffle prizes, drink breaks and plenty of queer joy. After the event, your hosts work their matchmaking magic. If the interest is mutual, you’ll receive your matches’ contact details a few days later. From there, it’s up to you to communicate what kind of connection you’re seeking. Our events generally attract people in their late 20s and 30s, while welcoming adults of all ages, including members of the non-monogamy and kink communities. Love Club has zero tolerance for disrespectful, threatening or non-consensual behaviour. Anyone behaving this way will be required to leave without a refund.
